How these Discounts are Applied
When a shopper goes to the checkout on your web store, the basket gets passed to bLoyal where a discount is calculated. This is applied to the basket and the shopper is asked to pay the discounted cost of the basket.
When this order is passed down to your POS, the order is passed down with the full cost of the items in the basket. The bLoyal POS Connector then makes the same call as the web store and discounts the order so that the total that is tendered at the POS matches that paid by the shopper on the web store.
Order Level Discounts
These are discounts that are applied to the basket as a whole. The way they are applied is by reducing the value of the first item type in the basket until the discount is used up. If there is still discount available once the first item type in the basket has been discounted then the second item type is discounted and so on until the discount is all used up.
Item Level Discounts
These are discounts that are applied to an item type in the basket. The discount is distributed across the selected item type reducing the price of each unit until the discount total is reached.
