On our product listing pages, we have a Recently Viewed carousel that will display, obviously, recently viewed items. We’d also like to add a Similar Items carousel that will suggest items similar to the product at hand. I know there’s support for populating carousels with historic data, but is there support for Similar Items for different products?

At the moment, the carousel editor only allows you to create a static carousel that will populate the data according to the rules. This means that it will not dynamically change information about items based on the one currently viewed by the client. The only options for dynamically adjusting the content are the mentioned “recently view items”, “history”, “related discounts”.
However, there is a “Display related theme / type link on product page” option available that works on the product page.
